4. 1. Planning for the future Our population is increasing We need to accommodate for population growth over the next 20 years and beyond and minimise impacts. Over 145,000 new dwellings will be required. 115,000 of those to be within existing urban areas by 2026.
5. 1. Planning for the future Our Shared Vision In 2006 – 55,000 residents had their say about the future of Brisbane. Brisbane’s friendliness, our green open spaces and our outdoor lifestyle are important. Our shared vision: living in Brisbane 2026 is Council’s plan for the future.
